Darjeeling has its own toy-train station, but the main railhead is New Jalpaiguri (NJP), about 88 km away, or Siliguri Junction. Bagdogra Airport is roughly 90 km away. The drive from NJP or Bagdogra takes about three to four hours by shared jeep or taxi. For late arrivals, some travellers stay in Siliguri for a night first.
